So this week was pretty awesome. We had a lot of success and we are both healthy again and the weather is beautiful. All is well here. I really love my comp and this branch. We better stay here again for at least one more transfer.
The K family is doing awesome. We are still teaching S the commandments in prep for his baptism on the 18th. The mother and son, S, are really doing well. They pray every night together and try to read in the Book of Mormon every night too. Sis K bore her testimony in church and it was really touching. She talked about finding her way back home after a while of inactivity. It is really awesome to know we were a big part in that. L, the daughter, is still coming to church but we have not got to meet with her yet. Hopefully this week it works out and we can help her. She struggles with self worth and the gospel and especially the relationship with Heavenly Father can really help her with that.
As far as other investigators... Herr E is doing really well still. Hopefully we can move his baptismal date up a little bit but if it stays at August 12th that is ok too. It is really a miracle at all that he wants to be baptized. He has said at least 3 times in my presence that he never wants to get baptized. Just goes to show that when people understand the doctrine of the plan of salvation, or any doctrine for that matter, their behaviors can change. This week we really focused on prayer because he didn't totally understand what it is for, how it helps, and how it works. It went really well and he said he is excited to work it all out. Oh, and he is still reading in the Book of Mormon just about every day. Things are looking great there.
Besides that M fell off the face of the planet. Hopefully we can get contact with him again. No one else is showing much progression but we are finding lots of new people. 5 new investigators this week. Hopefully they make some progress here soon. Still going to Z once a week where all these foreign students live. Working with quite a few. Wayyy cool people. A few new german investigators too this week in Görlitz. We are meeting our goals and met the standard this week of 20 lessons! First time in a long time that it has been done in this area I believe.
Plus we had an awesome zone conference this week. Wayy fun, way spiritual. Plus I got to see Martin Smith!! Wayy fun to catch up with him too.
So basically things are going awesome right now. My companion and I get along really well and we love the people we get to work with here. This branch is awesome. I'll share something from my study too....
Lately I've been thinking about the plan of salvation alot. It is my favorite. I am reading Jesus the Christ in german at the moment and read a lot about the premortal life and the foreordination of Christ as our Savior. It is very interesting to think about the fact that we have existed for forever. Time is crazy. God is outside of time and we here on the earth see everything bound in terms of time. When we know that this life is so tiny, and that the choices we make here, especially the decision to follow Christ the Eternal Savior, will effect our eternity, we see everything in a different perspective. Some things don't matter so much. Being important, rich, and admired don't matter at all. Temporal things like food, health, and comfortable living even take a back seat to things like our relationship with Heavenly Father, with our families, our friends, and of course our Savior Jesus Christ. The world is very good at altering or distorting the eternal perspective, but if we constantly focus on the gospel of Jesus Christ our perspective can be a little bit more like His. I love the plan.
Ok got to go! We have district sport pday today!! Beach volleyball!! so stoked. Love you all. Bye.
