Hallo!

This week was awesome. Highlights:

Awesome lesson with L about the restoration. She is so solid and is progressing quickly! This week they are going to meet with the lady in charge and try to get permission to be baptized! Fingers crossed and praying. She is so ready and she wants it so bad. We will prolly fast for her as well.

Our new chinese investigator L is doing awesome. We taught him about the restoration and Joseph Smith and it went really well. He is open and promised to continue reading in the Book of Mormon and to pray for an answer. We committed him to set a goal to be baptized as well. August 12. We are pretty sure we can move it up though. He is super open and humble and willing to learn and try new things. It is way cool to hear someone's first aloud prayer, even if it was in chinese.

We had an open house Saturday in the church and even though the turnout wasn't as good as we had hoped, it went seemingly well. Placed some Books of Mormon and have an appointment with a super golden lady, the neightbor of a member. Stoked about that.

Yesterday we taught the whole branch in church a member missionary workshop thing. We planned and studied a lot for it and it went pretty well. The culture here in Europe is different so you kind of have to morph everything so it applies. Wasn't exactly how we imagined it but the members complimented us on it later and we definitely helped them see kind of what the role of the member is in missionary work.

So basically things are great. Working a lot with less actives and are finding new potential investigators all the time. It is always exciting when someone becomes an investigator and even more, when they become progressing investigators. The weather is beautiful. The food is good. The branch is still hilarious and awesome. And I'm very happy about it all.

This week in preparation for the member missionary workshop I was really struck with the simpleness of it all. We have so many fears about talking to friends about the gospel but all the scary stuff really has to do with the role of the missionary. It is not hard to ask a friend if he wants to come to a church activity. It is hard to committ someone to live the law of chastity. You can't lose a friend over inviting them to come to something and the missionaries get transferred anyway so they can do the hard-awkward stuff. The member gets to be a friend, that is the fun part. I'm stoked to be a member missionary when I go home. I wish I did more before my mission. Better late then never tho.

Well that's all for this week. Tschüß from SUNNY Görlitz.
