Hey there
America,
This week was great!! Lots of little miracles! Lots of excitement too!
So first things first, I'm getting transferred. It is a little sad. I love this place and have enjoyed my time here and it is hard to leave but I'm excited for the future as well. Yesterday at church was like a farewell and it was my birthday too so I recieved a lot of well wishes from everyone. The branch president made sure everyone knew it was my birthday. I got to give a farewell testimony and thanked them for letting me be a part of their little ward family, they really are like a family, and I bore testimony of God, His Son Jesus Christ, and of the Restoration of the Gospel. It was poignant. The whole rest of the day was spent visiting members and investigators saying goodbye and giving last words of spiritual encouragement. Goodbyes are kinda wierd and uncomfortable but they are good. They help you evaluate what has happened, how blessed you are, and how you want to confront the future.
One of the best things is that L came to church! Really cool. The respect between him and his father is enormous and the Lord opened the door so he could experience church. He really liked it! The atmosphere especially. He asks when he doesn't understand so he learned a lot. It's something completely different from anything he has ever experienced so it was something really special to be there on my last Sunday there.
Besides that the work here this week went really good. Finding new people all the time. Met with two younger women that are super scientists and that went really good. We taught to their needs and questions and did it half in german half in english. The plan of salvation and the restoration were the main things we talked about. It was a really cool lesson and the spirit was there as we shared personal experiences and bore testimony. They both committed to read the Book of Mormon and to meet again. Next time we will cover prayer.
Also I went on exchange to Forst. Wayy cool place. It is a tiny place but there are quite a few members there because none of the people in this big family came to America and they all stayed in East Germany through the war and the commmunist era and now there is a lot of mormons in this little city. Fun to work somewhere where most of the people you talk to know a mormon hahaha. But that exchange was a lot of fun. A breath of fresh air. We rode bikes out to a little village in a rainstorm and did doors for a few hours and taught two lessons! Really good!
Anyways this week was great and these last 4 months have been awesome. I think about how much I've grown here. My testimony, my abilities as a missionary, my love for the people, my understanding of conversion, my desire to help people become active members, and my love for the Gospel. I'll always remember my day in Görlitz as some of the best of my mission. Lots of fun, spirit, and knowledge!
I'm excited for the future though.....
I'M GOING TO BERLIN!!! I'm going to serve with a swiss elder in the coolest city in the whole country, perhaps the continent. It's going to be crazy! I'm sooo stoked. I'm hungry! It's going to be great. I never thought I'd make it to the capital but that is where I'm headed! I'll be in Marzahn ward. It covers east Berlin. The part that was communist after the war. It is full of all sorts of people from all over the world. It will be an adventure.
Anyways thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! I got so many packages and letters in the last week! I had a great birthday! I wont soon forget it. Y'all have a great week
