So this week was pretty all over the place. Sunday Easter! Monday district pday in Cottbus, Tuesday temple trip, Wednesday exchange with a sick elder, Thursday had a surprise call and trip to a nearby town, Friday lots of finding, Saturday in Zittau, and Sunday was pretty chill.
District pday was wayy fun! Played ping pong and watched a disney movie. Nice and relaxing. Temple trip was very spiritual and also very fun. Staying inside with a sick elder was interesting. Did a lot of studying and eating and tried to help this poor guy.
Friday we got to talk to people on the street for a few hours! That is usually not my favorite thing to do but because of all the crazy stuff coming up we hadn't been able to do that for awhile and it was actually really fun. Had a few lessons on the street with legit people and that felt really good to bear testimony to people on the street again.
Saturday we met with Herr E and L. Herr E is keeping committments and making progress except that he won't come to church. He is people shy and doesn't necessarily like all the people bombarding him at church. So we decided we need him to become friends with a ward member first. We have to get him to allow someone to come with us to teach and then they gotta become friends. Big task but possible with the Lord's help.
We obtained 5 or 6 new investigators too this week which was also cool! People who could really make progress. So all in all super active week.
Church yesterday was really great. Fast and testimony meeting and the last session of conference. The branch is freaking out I'm prolly going next week! I love this place and it is gonna be hard to go. But change is also good.
Got quite a bit of good study time in this week which is always good. I just love the gospel. I love the scriptures. I love teaching the plan of salvation and the restoration. I'm reading Our Heritage and I'm so impressed with the courage of the early saints. I've been comparing their faith to that of new members today and the similarities and differences are cool. We have different challenges today but they are all the same when it comes down to it. What would you do for the gospel of Jesus Christ? I hope I could give up everything like John Tanner, or endure tarring and feathering like Edward Partridge, or preach the gospel alone leaving my family without a coat on my back. We don't have to do that but we can give up other things. Sins, distractions, time, talents, and other pursuits.
Anyways love you all and til next week!
Elder Clayton
