Sooo this week was a little warmer! Thank goodness. I was going to die. At one point it was warm enough to melt some snow. We were grateful.
So this week we had a lot of appoinments fall out but that's ok because that happens everywhere. It's apart of missionary work. Awesome things that happened this week are that the K family came to church! We have been teaching the son, S, in preparation for his baptism and we couldn't get his less active mother to take him to church. We have tried walking there ourselves, having members pick them up, everything. But for some reason this time it worked. The mother has a way solid testimony and our lessons there are usually very spiritual because she bears testimony to S too so it's always puzzled us why she never came to church. But she came! And she brought her daughter too. So basically we are really trying to help this family see the gospel's role and specifically the role of Jesus Christ in our lives. It's going great so far and we are excited at the progress they are making.
Another cool thing is M is still progressing. Still reading and coming to church. He's trying to change his life too and we hope this week to help him understand the doctrine of baptism and how that can help him in his life. So things are looking really bright there.
The bad news is everyone else is digressing and we need new people. All the appointments with new people are falling out sooooo we are just gonna keep doing our part happily and they can do what they want.
One thing I've been trying to figure out is how to be patient and happy while waiting for the good. It seems like I'm always telling myself that the big blessings are coming and I'm just waiting for the flood to break the bridge or something. My comp did this hilarious thing one day where he was like "dude check out the success I'm about to see." Then he talks to someone and gets completely rejected and was like "man, I just succeeded in talking to that guy." He's much better at it than I am but I've been trying to do the same and judge success on my side. The beautiful thing about free agency is we are only responsible for what we do and when we do what we are supposed to then we succeed no matter what the others do, if they accept it or not. So I'm going to be happy and successful. Here I go.
Ok I got to go. Love you all. Til next week!
Elder Clayton
