So this week was really cool. We had president interviews and I got to see Elder Adam Ott!!! That was sooo weird. It was like jumping into my old life for a second. Crazy! He's still as hilarious and spiritual as ever. It was soooo fun to be around him again. My interview was awesome. President is wayy cool. He introduced us to this program we are doing for the Christmas season called the Advent of Miracles. The focus is to invite everyone to church and that we will see miracles as people come to our meetings. I'm pretty stoked about it cause our baptisms have all come partly through people loving the spirit felt in the church on Sundays.
Our new investigator K is doing wayy good. She's reading the Book of Mormon and going to institute and she always comes with a ton of good questions and she wants to be baptized. This week we hope to set a day with her cause she wants to make sure her parents can be there. One cool story about her is that she already had interest and had looked for us in the city for like a whole day to find out more and the very next day we found her on the street and invited her to church and from there its been full speed ahead. Wayyyy cool finding someone that was acutally looking for us!
J is doing awesome. He's reading and he should be ready for his baptism on the 18th. He's pretty much the coolest guy ever. The D family is the coolest family. They have already been such a blessing to the branch.
The S family is also doing well. I got to confirm N on Sunday and that was wayyyy cool. A lot easier the second time around haha. The spirit was super strong and it was awesome. Fast and testimony meeting was great and I bore my testimony and my german flowed and I was able to bear strong testimony of what I know and it was a cool feeling. Our investigator/new convert class went awesome. We had 4 baptized there and 5 investigators that are all cool. A great class on prayer. The best is when your investigators or the people you baptize answer a question or share an experience in class. AWESOME. There is also a possiblity P will get baptized.
Basically I have nothing to complain about. I'm prolly the most blessed missionary in Germany right now. The COOLEST people here. The only thing to be sad about is that we didn't get a car and it's freezing and I won't be home for Christmas. Oh well. Worth the sacrifice.
The Christlike attribute this week is humility and comes from Alma 5:26-29. This entire chapter is a series of questions placed by Alma to the people. Questions we can answer to ourselves to evaluate where we are at spiritually. Enough to humble anyone I'd think. In these verses he asks the people why they have changed since the time they were converted. He asks if they were to die today, could they tell God they had been humble, clean, blameless, stripped of pride, if they are repentant. He says if the answer is no, then they won't receive eternal life and they aren't prepared to meet God. Basically when you read it you just get scared and want to do better. I really like how he talked about how earlier they sang the song of redeeming love. How they had already had a change of heart. We all have changes of heart, times when we really recognize we need to do better and repent, and that is when we are most humble. I believe the key to humility is to be repentant. To keep your heart changed, by consistently repenting and as we focus on our relationship with God, the envy, pride, and sin go out the window. We would all be more prepared to meet God and we could always be singing the song of redeeming love.
That's it for now. Til next week!
Elder Clayton
