This week was real sweet!

I got to go on an exchange with my mtc comp Elder Bangerter!! Man that was soooo fun! We both have had some wayy cool experiences so far and a lot of success. It was so fun to show him my city that I've worked in ever since we got to Germany and he got to meet the D family and the S family. Plus we got to relive hilarious and spiritual times of the mtc. It was pretty dang awesome! We hope we can serve together again later as comps.

So J is doing awesome!! He's right on track for his baptism and he's wayyy excited. I think his wife is even more excited though. They are sooo a part of the branch already it's like they have been there forever. Like a piece of the puzzle that was missing is there. Their kids love primary and their daughter said the sweetest closing prayer at our last visit. Sister D is helping out wherever she can in the Relief Society and basically it's all so fun and cool to see.

This week the S family had us over for dinner and that was wayy fun. haha They asked me to say the prayer in english and hahahaha it was a struggle. I hadn't prayed in english since before the mtc and I didn't know how to do it! hhaha Anyways we had a fun time and ate wayy good german food. We read the Christmas story from the Book of Mormon side and that was wayyy cool. The spirit was really there everytime we read out of the Book of Mormon with them. They love that book. Also C received a temple recommend to do baptisms and she is going to be baptized for her mother! Awesome!!

K is progressing and we made out a date for her baptism. We also have a wayy cool new African investigator. He lived in a refugee shelter here and his circumstances are very humble. A way humble guy who I think we can really help. Hopefully spiritually and temporally.

Besides that not much to report. Christmas is coming up and it's just got me in an awesome mood. Christmas here is sick!! It was invented here, so they know how to celebrate it. It's 3 days long and the advent is like a whole month and basically it's way cool.

This week I just want to share a cool little thought about Christmas in the Book of Mormon. In Jerusalem only Joseph, Mary, a few shepherds, and the mother of John the Baptist knew that Christ was born that night. (the wise men and Herod came a little later I think) but, in the Book of Mormon the subject of Christ's birth affected everybody. Samuel told them of the sign of a day and a night and a day that would come in 5 years at His birth. The people where Nephi the prophet lived were divided, believer against unbeliever. The unbelievers set a day where if the sign had not come they would kill all the believers. Nephi prayed the whole day long. The believers prayed with faith too I imagine. I tried to think what I would do in their situation. I believe and hope I would not deny my belief and I believe I would pour my heart out to God for my life as well. The Lord was very aware of their situation and planned everything perfectly so that Jesus would be born and the sign given just in time to save these believers. In that sense the baby Jesus was already their Savior. Later He would suffer for their sins, die, and be resurrected to save them again from death and from sin. A beautiful example of the Lord's mercy and awareness of His covenant people.

That's all. Till next week! Herzlichen glückwunsch zum weinachten!
