So this week was soooo quick but soooo good.
We had president interviews and got to hear talks from the APs, the ZLs, and President too. Wayyy good. Things I learned.... faith and obdience are like a perpetual motion machine. As we are obedient our faith grows and we excercise our faith be being obedient and the two stengthen and lead into one another for our growth. The scriptures are key in teaching and learning. A person who has a testimony and love for the scriptures is so much more likely to stay strong in hard times and is generally happier. And the atonement is like a gift certificate. It's already paid for. All we need to do is redeem it. All the suffering that is our fault, no one's fault, or someone else's fault is paid for in Christ and He can bring us solace if we exercise faith and ask for help.
D is doing awesome. Had a joint teach with one of my favorite members and it went awesome. She is unbelievably prepared to accept the gospel. Everything makes sense to her and her questions are perfect. She is coming to General Conference and is prolly riding with our other baptisimal candidate to it hahaha. Way cool. C is doing well. She got a new job and things are stabling out and we are making some real progress with her. Nothing to report yet about the other investigators. Had some good lessons but not a ton of progress in most of them. We did have a cool first lesson with a couple yesterday though. They are really open and really understood what the Book of Mormon is and how important it would be if it's true.
Had another cool experience yesterday too. We had just eaten with the whole ward after church and of course I ate too much cause it's delicious and my body was shutting down. We needed a new appointment and 3 lessons and we had been street contacting for 2 or 3 hours with no success. We decided to drop all our extra stuff off at the apartment and use the bathroom (no public bathrooms) and regroup. My comp asked where we should go cause we still had an hour and a half till our next app and we needed to make out a new appointment with someone. I suggested we pray for guidance. We did so and I felt we should stay in the area. We street contacted in the area and made out our appt a half hour later. Our first appt went through, which was a surprise because we made it out a month ago, and we were able to teach 2 other lessons by just going by people. All went really well. The difference from before I prayed and after was sooo apparent. Before I was tired and anxious and after I felt peaceful and humble and just wanted to do what the Lord had in store for us. The Lord blessed me with peace and blessed us to reach our goals. My testimony of goals and of divine help in reaching them has been strengthened so much in the last few weeks. My comp and I have met the teaching and finding mission standard for the last 5 weeks and one more would make a perfect transfer! With General Conference it's going to be tough but God will provide us with the oppurtunity if we are looking for it!
The Christlike attribute I studied this week is humilty. It's the willingness to sumbit to the Lord and give Him the honor for what is accomplished. Sometimes the Lord humbles us through afflictions. He does it out of love because it helps us grow. If we let Him help us grow and all the while acknowledge that it was because of Him we grow and thank Him for it, we will be so much happier. 2 Nephi 9:28-29 is amazing. To be learned is good if you hearken unto the counsel of God. Unfortunately many think they are wiser than God when they are learned. We meet people everyday that don't believe in God because they have come up with their own theories or they say there isn't a God because if there was He wouldn't allow this or then this wouldn't be this way. Faith isn't a perfect knowledge. And when we are humble enough to be learned and faithful we can do a lot of good. Praise God in everything. The good and the hard things that make us better in the end. Mosiah 4:11-12 is awesome. Remember how much He has done for you, and thank Him for it in prayer and you will always rejoice, grow in His knowledge, be filled with His love, and always retain a remission of your sins. AWESOME!
Outta time. Sooo stoked for GC this weekend! Love you all! Til next week!
