September 24, 2012

Hey people!

This week was pretty hard but good as well.  One investigator dropped us without saying why and won't even talk to us. Super sad because he was making such progress. He had really changed there for awhile. Like his countenance was completely brightened, but he stopped keeping commitments and after two weeks of digression, this... one of the hardest things about a mission. There is no real comfort for it except to keep on going and find new awesome people. Praying and reading helps too.

The other baptisimal date for this week moved it back again. The good thing is she is really ready to get baptized and just moved it back so family could be there. We are working really hard though and are seeing success with some of our investigators.

We have one who is really progressing. We decided, after praying about it during weekly planning, that we should just slow down and work at his pace. So this week we went by more often and stayed shorter, just reading in the Book of Mormon with him. I can testify of the power of this book. Everything slows down when we read and the spirit just comes right in the room. After reading the spirit was really there and we challenged him to say a prayer. He said his first aloud prayer and it was a huge step for him. We are really excited to see his progress in coming weeks. His good friend is progressing as well and loves reading and praying and coming to church!! It is just a matter of time.

An inactive brother is making great strides as well. We have had such problems gettting appointments with him at all before but now he is really progressing. He is reading again in the scriptures and has come to church the past two weeks!! It is great to see the change in him. He is smiling and laughing now. Never saw him do that before. And his understanding of the gospel is awesome. So glad for him.

I love my district too. Such awesome misisonaries, dealing with really hard things, but just growing and being such great servants of the Lord. Plus they are hilarious. I love being a district leader. And training is really hard and I feel like I'm not very good at it but I've learned a ton and I love my son. He is such a great missionary. Such a good example to me.

Anyway I'm out of time unfortunatly but this will have to suffice. Love you all very much and I hope you are all spiritually nourished!! Til next week!

Hi everyone!!! I'm really sorry but I used all my email time to search for answers to investigator's questions and emailing family...... I will have to tell you about the week next week! Don't be mad.  I'm trying to be obedient and use the amount of time specified by the mission president!  Know it was a great week.  I'm loving my area, companion, district, and ward.  I really couldn't be more blessed as a missionary right now! Love you all! Til next week!

  1. I miss Elder Clayton so much! I love that these boys are serving and being so obedient. Elder Jensen is also a DL and also says it's the hardest thing he's ever done. I'm so proud of our boys! xo
