Hi there!
Well this week was very good. Lots of goodbyes and good appointments and fun and ya it was really good. Let me share some specifics...
Monday night was family home evening with one of my favorite families here! Ping pong. Sooo fun. Spiritual as well. And ya just hilarious. They have been really great in helping in the missionary work here and it was great to visit one last time.
Wednesday we met with a recent convert and her husband. They are sooo great. We talked a lot about her baptism and their future plans and everything. They made rouladen. Delicious, look it up. They have a goal to go to the temple in a year and ya it was just amazing to see how far they have come. So grateful for them. They were also very appreciative of my help in preparing them. I bore my testimony to them one more time and it was really special. One of those moments a missionary lives for.
That same day I met with some brothers in the ward. A recent convert and a member who I've got to work with a ton as well and that was also a special experience to build them spiritually one more time and say goodbye.
Thursday I was able to do a baptisimal interview for a wonderfully sincere chinese girl. That was nerve racking at first but just really good in the end. I learned a lot and was able to help her with some things and it was just a really great experience. She was baptized on Friday and that is something great to be a part of.
Friday was zone training meeting and interviews. It was a great meeting. So many great missionaries that I love are going home and they gave us their last wisdoms. I had a great interview with president. I got to know him wayyy better and he me as well. I could really connect to him this time and he prayed for me at the end and that was sweet. That man is inspired and full of love. He presented our new standards of excellence in the meeting, which we are all excited about. They focus much less on the missionary and more on the conversion of the investigator. Big stuff here in the Germany Berlin Mission! Plus our mission is going to get even huger in March!
Friday we met with a new investigator. His sister is studying in Virginia and joined the church there and he wanted to know more. We taught him about the restoration and it was a really cool time. He is very eager to learn and to try knew things and accepted the challenge to read a bit everyday and to pray about it. With someone of his sincerity and with a sister already in the church it is only a matter of time before he progresses.
Saturday met with some of my favorite ward members and also some investigators that we had been working with. I bore testimony to them one more time and they want to continue to learn. We were scared we had lost them before because they never would make time to meet but now that is resolved. They came to the gospel principles class and sacrament meeting as well!
Sunday was the primary program. I love the kid's testimonies. So simple and powerful. The ward was very kind and appreciative of my service there and that was nice to see. So many came and wished me well and told me that our group of missionaries in the ward are special and that it is a special time. That was great.
Sunday night we met with a great couple. I love them. The coolest people ever. I think it was the hardest to say goodbye to them. She is the prime example of acting in faith and receiving the blessings. He has been reading and learning a ton. He is making tons of progress too. We promised to keep in touch. They are headed for so many blessings in active membership in the church! I can't wait to hear about their further progress!
So I'm gettting transferred!!! To Oldenburg as a zone leader. I'm replacing my good friend Elder J. My trainer also served there after he left me. I'll be serving with Elder F who I already know a bit and he is awesome. He plays soccer and he is a hard worker. I'm stoked!
It has been a crazy 7 months here but it is time to go. I learned an insane amount here. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything, although it has been the hardest part of my mission.
So this email is huge I'm going to stop now. Love you all! Have a great Thanksgiving and I'll talk to you next week from Oldenburg!!
